Light
edited by Vania Comoretti
At times, when speaking, we invoke Heavens whishing for something to happen or not to happen, referring to an extraordinary event or expressing relief.
The sky is, as far as we know, the air, the atmosphere that encircles the Earth, or the space in which our planet moves together with the stars.
I must confess, I am not paying much attention to this impalpable presence lately, but I am aware of light and its variations: they are essential when I portray a subject, meticulously investigating his or her eyes, hence the events that happen in that minimal space, too.
Light, variations, surface, reflection, shade: this is often the sequence of the phenomena necessary to create visual and emotional experiences hovering between inside and outside.
Vision is one of the many manifestations of light as an energy, and eyesight plays a major role in the processes of introjecting images and analysing them. It is through the eye, although imperceptibly, that the slight changes of expression and the emotions pass, and materialise themselves in the accepting attitude of the glance.
This is how – from the light of the eye deep into the emotions – the sky becomes an indispensable presence.
